Visit Amazing Botswana

Botswana is a beautiful landlocked country in Southern Africa, and its capital city is Gaborone. It is bordered by South Africa to the south and southeast, Namibia to the west and north, Zimbabwe to the northeast, and Zambia to the north near Kazungula. It is a mid-sized country with a little over 2 million people, and is one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world.

Botswana is flat, with almost 70 percent of its territory being the Kalahari Desert. Its amazing landscape is defined by the Kalahari Desert and the Okavango Delta, which becomes a lush animal habitat during the seasonal floods. The enormous Central Kalahari Game Reserve is home to numerous animals including giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas and wild dogs.

Botswana is known for its safari’s and the possibility of seeing the “big five game” or “Big Five”. In Africa, the big five game animals are the African lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, African leopard, and rhinoceros. Other countries where all the members of the big five can be found include Zambia, Uganda, Namibia, Ethiopia, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Malawi. We have highlighted some top things to do in Botswana should you decide to visit this amazing county.

Chobe Game Reserve

Chobe Game Reserve is located within an hour drive of Victoria Falls. Chobe is known for its large number of massive elephants. Chobe National Park is located in Botswana’s far northeastern corner, and is one of the great wildlife destinations in all of Africa.
